Ok, everyone says the obvious - you need a lawyer.
If (and that's a big if), I was able to scrape the funds together...
What lawyer is going to consider taking me on AFTER I've already filed and only 3 weeks away from the creditors meeting?
Will he charge me more since they'll have to fix everything?
Should he deduct the amount needed for filing fees since I've already setup the installment plan? Should he charge me less since all my papers have been filed, but may need corrections? - he may need to file docs to fix the errors
The lawyer in my county charges $1000, which includes the filing fees and possibly the costs of preparing all my documents... well, docs are done, just might need a little fixing.
So, maybe he might charge less than his normal rate... $500-$700.
I'll call him Monday and see if he can work something out with me.
My husband said last night his family in Turkey may send us some money (as gift) if we are struggling.
I did find out that since my husband can't get a drivers license yet (needs to improve English or pay for translator at drivers test), that he is eligible for ID card. AND that he is permitted to own a vehicle - titled & registered in his name... AND since the insurance is in my name (he is on the policy as my husband, but unlicensed), I can have the car covered! I will be listed as the driver only.
My father is loaning my husband the money to buy a car and we can get it sometime this week. Thankfully the issue with losing the financed car and worried about how I am going to get the work is resolved.
