    Help

I'm drowning in credit card debt (40,000) ,Ive already contacted a BK lawyer. but I havent filed income tax in 3 yrs and I'm afraid everything is going to bite me on the ^#%^ !!!. I havent filed for 2004 and the job I had for 2002-2003 was under the table. I'M saving money to give to my lawyer so he will start the BK paperwork, but now I'm worried about back taxes.

I'm no expert here by any means, but here's what I would do.

File your tax returns before going through with the BK. Your BK attorney will need them anyway. I assume you'll be owing money so set up a payment plan with the IRS and whatever state you live in.

Owing money to the government isn't a crime [as long as you make your payments] so I wouldn't worry about it.

    I hope this is helpful...

    Anyone else have a suggestion?

Yeah, complete your tax returns for each year, file them, then go see a BK attorney.
