I finally filed today. The clerk was extremely nice and very helpful. Everything looked good, my 341 is on September 20. All I have to do now is call the trustee to see what paperwork they require for the meeting. The clerk told me I could call and that the secretaries were very nice. She said they'd tell me exactly what I need.

That was so easy, I was so nervous my hands were shaking! I feel so relieved!!

I just hope the meeting goes well... always something to worry about. At least that's over.


Question... Is there anyone else in the eastern district of Michigan? Is there another way to check in on what my trustee says other than pacer? I don't have a credit card to get onto it... imagine that... your filing BK and you can't get on w/o a cc.

hey best of luck....just go to pacer site and register with your name and address and they will send user name and pass iin mail...
got mine today and accessed my case...very easy..you will be billed quarterely i believe at 8 cents per page...i also think they wait until you have at least 10.00 to bill you...you can check your billable pages account on pacer as well....think of the holidays ahead being debt free!!!! god bless you....guzzie

Yeah, I filed myself... I was horrified but was so thorough. I went through my paperwork probably 20 times before I actually filed it. And I still made last minute changes this morning before leaving It was awful but the truth is that I don't have anything to lose.

Don't you have to send a credit card in the mail to them first? I'll check and see if it works with my name and address. Thanks!!!

You can use debit cards or visa gift cards for pacer, or I believe, like some here have stated, you can sign up and have them send you a paper statement which you could pay by check or money order.

Just be careful you look at the charges before you click on the tab to download. Usually a box will come up and disclose what it will cost to view any pages online. I was a little tired one night, and clicked on the docket report before my 341, and I "think" I downloaded the entire days worth of chapter 7 filers for the day of my 341. NOT what I meant to do... So I have a $50.00 bill this month.

There are a lot of wiser folks than me on this board who can help point you to the links, and such for pacer, and I believe there is a great sticky for navigating pacer. Wish I woulda checked that one out from the get go

I did register with information and it said the password and id would come in the mail within a week. I didn't put in a cc #. So, maybe I won't need one.

I registered at pacer without a credit/debit card, and recieved my user/password in about 4 days. They will then send you a bill when your account reaches $10.00.
I am in Michigan, but western district!
