do I need to notify the creditors myself?

My husband and I just filed chapter 7 and we were wodnering if we are supposed to notify all of the creditors ourselves?? Are we supposed to send them a copy of the notice of stay?

No, assuming you provided the addresses to each of your creditors on your petition, you do not have to notify them yourselves. The court mails out the Notice. However, if your wages are about to be garnished or home sold, etc, you may want to send the notice yourself. Also, if you have been sued, its up to you to notify the court of your BK.
