Sorry I posted this. Never mind, I was looking for someone to respond, and 35 views and nobody did. Thanks anyway

It's possible no one responded because the ones looking didn't no how to answer the question.

Or they didn't know the answer.

Or you didn't give enough information in your question to get an answer.

Or your question was too vague.

Any of those things can happen, but deleting your post, certainly will not get you an answer.

Welcome to the forum, if you need some advice, support, or answers feel free to post them. Just please be patient and give all the members a chance to answer.

I viewed it and did not know the answer, I still do not.

I remember it was about worrying about cashing checks instead of depositing them & wondering if you have to go ask all the people you worked for to get the amounts to make sure what you made was accurate.

I would be upfront with the attorney about it all and get his best advice from him. If he says to go get the totals from all the people, then just do it the best way you can. That way no big suprizes with the Trustee and the meetings. The lawyers have a way of smoothing things and the numbers out on paper like us regular people do not know how to do.
He may just tell you to do nothing and then you worried for nothing, but at least he knows then and will be able to help if you need to do anything.

        my two cents

Well can't respond to it since I don't see it. You gotta have a little more patience though you only left it up for 9 hours and that was during the night when most folks were asleep.

I know bankruptcy is stressful, heck the 3 years before it was more stressful than since I filed, but you gotta have some patience.

Repost your question and at least give it a few days.

Welcome to the forum. This is a great forum because the majority of posters give accurate information. I would rather that someone responds to my post that is knowledgeable then someone who thinks that they know the answer. Please repost....this forum is great!

I am so sorry for deleting my post, I have just been SO stressed out and I am getting myself so worked up over the whole situation. It was about cashing checks from people that I work for. The amounts are probrably not over $300 total but I dont want the trustee finsing out and then thinking I am trying to be dishonest. I am not, I just have terrible record keeping and I DO NOT want to ask the people that I work for ( cleaning, etc ) to give me the amounts. My lawyer is VERY thorough and I know that is what he would make me do. I was just curious how deep the trustee will dig

Sorry again for deleting my post, I was all paranoid thinking that people here thought I was being dishonest and did not want to respond to me because of that. My bad. I am alot less stressed tonight, but today I was having MAJOR anxiety over the whole situation.

If it was me, I would do what the lawyer said. You don't have to tell the people your filing for bankruptcy, you could just say you're getting your records in order or something along those lines. It might be something you would get away with but you would have that extra worry hanging over your head. Beyond a bankruptcy issue, you might have tax problems if your declared income doesn't add up. The Nolo book has been a really great source for me and they said over and over to be totally honest about everything.
For the record - I don't think that it sounds like you're trying to cheat anything Maybe check with your lawyer just in case - he can tell you if it's not a big deal or if it's something you should do.
                  Good luck!

                        Your welcome.

I think I would ask the folks if they could tell you and include the information. I wouldn't mention the bankruptcy, you could just as someone else suggested tell them that you are trying to get your records in order in preparation to pay taxes at the end of the year.

Since its an irregular pay situation as well you might could just do some sort of statement that you made such and such amount doing such and such. Your lawyer could probably help you draw this up.

I'd ask your lawyers advice, that's why you are paying them .

We all get frazzled a bit during the process, try to keep your spirits up.

Are you considered self employed? If so look at last years tax return divide by twelve and write a statement of income you could even have it notorized and have it filed as you proof of income. That is what we did and in the statement we said our average monthly income is xxx and we are self employed and we do such and such services . We filed prose and this was accepted as our proof of income. They dont expect you go to all of your customers and say how much did you pay me can you write that down. So that may be an option for you.
Sometimes life make you deal with ugly and hateful people ,just think of them as sand paper. They may scratch you and rub you the wrong way but eventually you end up smooth and polished and the sand paper becomes old and worn out.

Welcome back! I'm glad you decided to repost. I agree that you could go around and ask for the amounts and just say it is for your record keeping purposes. But if in fact you are considered self employed you should ask your lawyer how best to handle this. He/she would know better as to how it would be handled in your specific district. Your lawyer will tell you whether it would be better to get the amounts from the customers or do as F07 and use your tax return to help you figure up your income.

Again...welcome to the forum. Any other questions you may have feel free to post them.

It is like that at first but the longer you stay here and ask questions, the more you learn and the more confident you will become and the stress and anxiety will diminish.

The amounts are probrably not over $300 total but I dont want the trustee finsing out and then thinking I am trying to be dishonest. If this is only about 300.00, then I would not even bring that up. here is why...I do taste testing from time to time and I cash those checks and do not deposit them. They explained very well that there is an allowance of 600.00 additional income that they can pay and we can make before we have to claim taxes. I get about 150 or 200 a year taste testing samples and I have never included that as wages. If I were to reach that $600 mark then I would have to declare that as income. Or if I had other jobs where I make more than $600 total but have not been taxed, then I would declare that as additional income.

While I could be wrong in my understanding about all this and have not actually read the law about it, this is just my personal experience. I have never even considered adding that 150.00 that I make extra.
Does anyone know what I am talking about and maybe have info on this?

If you filed on what you deposit and the IRS accepted your filing then I would not worry too much about it. Most likely that is just a petty cash amount that most people have.

This is just me and what I would do (not advice for you), you have to do what you feel is best for you and since it really is a small amount try not to be too worried as I personally do not view that as dishonest at all. Others might, but I do not.
