Clarification: When I said 'disposable income', I was thinking about after discharge when a Ch 7 filer now has money available for living expenses that before they had to pay to nonsecured creditors. I wasn't referring to Schedule I vs J.

It is certainly possible (although rare) to be an under-median Ch 7 filer and be pushed into Ch 13 if you aren't careful filling in your forms with appropriate living expenses. Disposable income over $100/month could indeed open the Ch 13 door; disposable income over $160/month absolutely will.

    Apologies for the confusion
I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.

I redid my Schedule J and I really did underestimate a lot of the figures. I didn't think I really had that much extra money! I ended up with $83 a month disposable.
I was recently offered a small temporary job. I haven't signed the contract yet. I would get a one time payment once I complete the job. If I average it out over 12 months, it raises my disposable income too high again. I won't get paid until December (due for discharge in November) but I think I would have to report it since I know it's coming?
My question: I used the lowest payment option for my student loans on my redone schedule (btw haven't filed any of this yet) because that's the one I intend to go with when I come out of deferment. Can I use one of the higher payment options in order to compensate for this extra income? I don't want to turn down this job but I don't want to screw up my bankruptcy either.

well you filed before the job started and you havent technically gotten paid yet so it is unessecary to add that into your schedules because it has not even happened yet.
Sometimes life make you deal with ugly and hateful people ,just think of them as sand paper. They may scratch you and rub you the wrong way but eventually you end up smooth and polished and the sand paper becomes old and worn out.
