    Credit card usage question

Okay, I have not filed yet but think I will in maybe a week or after vacation. Here is my "ethicial question". I have to get my gas gauge on my car fixed tomorrow and something else may need to be looked at and I need to use my credit card. How will this look when I go to file?

Really depends on the cost(s) of the repairs. While it is advisable not to charge anything within/before 90 days of the filing there are circumstances that usage is necessary. A running car is as necessary as for example a root canal job Iif a credit card is used at the dentist's office.

It is best to wait at least 90 days between the last credit card usage and filing. You can still file if its not been 90 days but keep in mind that the creditor may object to that use of the card. That means you'd still have to pay for that particular use.

I'd keep the receipt, you could argue it is just routine car maintenance and may be able to beat an objection that way.

Might run it by your lawyer before you do it.

Thanks for the information. I needed to get it fixed so it is there now being looked at. Haven't heard what may need to be done. I am going to call my attorny today and get some information on the car situation. I definetly needed my gas gauge fixed. Tired of guessing how much gas. Also want to see if it is worth keep the car. It has been so neglected but it seems to run fine. It has hit the 100,000 mark so I am at crossroad as to keep it or not.
