Question about means test

I am not sure how it works, do they subtract your exemptions from your income or do they just take your income and compare it to the median income for that state to qualify for a chapter 7?

Your 6 month income is comapred to the median for your state. Exemptions play no role in the means test.

thanks, I was confused about that and about another million things. Would my daughter who is college out of town be a qualified dependent. I do claim her on my income tax. She is 20.
