Hello all. Thanks for all of your help. I have a question. If I include my house in my bankruptcy 7 filing, I am assuming that I should immediately stop paying on my mortgage just like I stopped paying on my credit cards? I am current on my mortgage at the current time. What about my escrow account? Thanks for your help!

If you intend to surrender your house (give it back to the lender) as a part of your bankruptcy, then yes, you can stop paying the mortgage as long as you will filing within a few months.Originally posted by inhocknow View PostIf I include my house in my bankruptcy 7 filing, I am assuming that I should immediately stop paying on my mortgage just like I stopped paying on my credit cards?
If you want to keep the house and continue living in it after you file, then you must keep making the payments. And the payments have to be up to date when you file as well.I am not a lawyer and this is not legal advice nor a statement of the law - only a lawyer can provide those.
