    No asset case...anybody get objections?

I'm new so bear with me! I filed for BK on 7/2/07 and I had my 341 meeting on Aug. 10. It went really smoothly and so much easier than I thought! The trustee declared it a "no-asset" case and wished me a good weekend. Anyway, it's been 30 days and I haven't had any objections to my exemptions but now I'm nervous about the next 30 days until my discharge. Has anyone had any objections to the dichargability of their debt when it's been a no-asst case? I had about 65,000 in debt spread out among 8 cards. Just wondering! TIA!

you should be fine. Try not to worry because to be truthful there is nothing you can do but wait. Us trustee has the full 60 days to object but usually you would have gotten some kind of clue of red flags at your meeting. The saying is the less questions the better your outcome. So just relax for the next 30 days and try not to think about it.

I will not say good luck because I know you will be fine.
Success is reachable, stretch out your arm and grab it.

Normally you would have had an idea by now, however.....if a certain creditor is just going over their files now or within the next few weeks an objection may occur.
It's about as rare as Haley's Comet as this point, but it does happen.
Even if it did they would most likely just work out a reaffirmation plan with your Lawyer.
I wouldn't sweat it at all.....

I got ya beat! I filed on $71K worth of cc debt on 14 cards with 8 different creditors. Nobody objected.

Keep in mind, creditor objections have nothing to do with whether you case is an asset case or no asset case. The purpose of a creditor objection is to keep you liable for the debt notwithstanding the BK. Note, creditors can only object for very limited reasons (i.e. that you made charges on your account that you "intended", "knew", or "should have known" that you could not pay back).

As everyone else pointed out, if you haven't heard anything by now, you probably have nothing to worry about. Most creditors, if they are going to object, make some sort of contact with the debtor or their attorney before the 341 meeting.

If the UST was going to object he would have notified you within 10 days of your 341. So you are just waiting for creditors to object.

Not one peep for me either, and I am "due" for discharge in a week.

I don't get many credit card offers yet but about TWO DAYS after my 341 I received a very "nice" form letter from a local car dealership who said they would love to work with me in obtaining an auto loan. They out-and-out mentioned my BK, and they said they make it a practice of checking filings, as they want to help people.

I threw that one away. I already have a car (reaffirmed the loan). I thought it was pretty funny though!

I did not receive any objections in my case. I did check Pacer two or three times a week to make sure during the 60 day wait. Good Luck to you

Thanks again everyone! You guys are great! I wish I had found this forum 2-3 months ago! You've all made me feel better! BTW Cassiopeia, I got that car dealership letter wanting to "help me" too! It was from Maryland and they also cited my bankruptcy but luckily, the car I use is under my husband's name so it didn't need to be included (I filed individually)! I heard that the cc offers will flood you when the discharge paper comes but to be very wary. I'm not going to even consider getting one for a long time although I know that it helps to rebuild your credit. October 9th is not that far away so I'm just going to relax!
