I wanted to thank everybody on this forum for their tremendously helpful posts. I was just served today by Eskanos & Adler for a debt with Discovercard. (I was the typical stupid college student that racked up a lot of CC debt while in school)
Discovercard has been harassing me for years and finally got the grapes to file a lawsuit. Normally, I'd be an absolute wreck, but thanks to the advice I've gotten from this forum, I'm armed and ready to deal with them. Actually being served is kind of a relief because now I have enough reason to file my BK!
I've done tons of interviews and found a fantastic lawyer. Every person I've talked too has told me that I'm a "classic chapter 7" and there should be no problem getting a discharge.
The next couple months will be scary, but I'm determined to get my life back. Thank you everybody for your life-saving advice!!
