can the court force me into a chapter 13 if i owe any back child support. I am not trying to get out of paying this and there are not judgements against me but i have missed some payments at times for various reasons

I don't believe they can force you into a chapter 13 because of unpaid back child support.
However, regardless of which chapter of BK you file, the back child support has 1st priority claim on any assets that get liquidated in a chapter 7, (or the first payments made in a chapter 13).
Also, keep in mind, the back child support does NOT get discharged.Comment

I think your 13 can be dismissed if you're behind in child support or they will list it has priority debt.Comment
