Has anyone heard of Price Law Group?

I talked with a lawyer from there today and they are I guess a nationwide law firm....their address is pricelawgroup.com (sorry if this is not okay to post, I'm just trying to see if I'm making the right move retaining them, please delete post if this isn't okay). They sounded nice and like they knew what they were doing on the phone, but I am not sure if it's better to go with a smaller firm.

    Thanks for any input.

Yeah, I thought about that too. They said I could do everything online except for the 341, but we are out in the country right now staying with my parents so that's what made it sound so great is that we wouldn't have to travel 2 hours into a city to visit lawyers. But, if I can't find anything amazing about them, we'll just do the traveling...thanks!

Ditto on that. I really found it "comforting" actually (I know, weird to say) to talk to and commiserate with my attorney and his paralegal in person. They were just wonderful.

Price Law Group is a "network" of attorneys. The group centralizes paperwork prep and filing in one state (I think they are based out of CA, but I don't remember) then they hire a local attorney to attend your 341 and act as local counsel.

For a run of the mill, no hassle chapter 7, they will probably work, but if you have any special issues, avoid them like the plague.

In other words... contracting versus.. outsourcing..

Also, at least last time I checked, their prices for a chapter 7 weren't that much better than what you could get from a local attorney who limits their practice to your state.

Also, keep in mind, the person completing your paperwork will not be as familiar with your state's exemptions and local practice customs (because the paralegal preparing your documents is out of state) than a person who works locally. Granted, the "local" attorney is supposed to review the paperwork, but frankly, I doubt that happens much.

But, if they are cheaper, and you have a relatively simple case, they would probably work.

I am supposed to talk to them agian today. I am wondering if the reason they are so confident they can help us is because they are a network from all areas and she said that being from another state wouldn't be an issue. Frankly, the two local attorneys that I spoke with were abrasive and made our ch 7 sound so complicated. We have no assets, our home is in short sale or foreclosure (at this point I don't know where it stands) I lost my job, we moved in with family to make ends meet and my hubby is still interviewing with a company that is really putting him through the ringer for a low paying job just so we can get on our feet. We have two kids as well. Price Law said we are a no hassel, slam dunk case....the other two were as I said - abrasive and told us we had to wait another 5 months to file, although one of them said they weren't sure if it was 5 more months or 91 days..... Thanks for all of your input though. I still want to check them out some more and do appreciate your input!
