I posted my situation on this site a few months ago, and I finally saved enough money to retain an attorney. His fees are very reasonable so hopefully I should pay him in full soon and file soon after.
He gave me a list of things to get ready for him, which I'm working on right now. But I'm confused about my statements/bills. First of all, they are ALL collections, as all my debt has been charged off for awhile. My questions are:
-Do I list only the most recent collection notice, or all of them per each debt (as they have been sold numerous times)?
-Will the debt that will be discharged be the original balance, or the settlement offer that some collection agencies are offering?
-With some of my debt, the letters have stopped. Should I still list them in my BK, even though they haven't been after me lately?
One final question...my income is FAR below the state median. Do I still have to do a means test and have to list my expenses? Or do I automatically qualify for a ch.7?
Thank you for your help!!
