I've read on here somewhere (I just can't find the post) where a creditor probably wouldn't object if it's under a certain amount and after 90 days if the charge was for a necessity. Hopefully I understood that correctly. We aren't filing until March, but we used one of our cards to pay rent through paypal (that is how the property manager collects rent). We paid part of it on a cc and the other half through our checking account - both through paypal though. What are our consequences?

The very second bk is a viable option, is the day you need stop using your credit cards.
Should be no problem since you aren't filing until March. You need to start getting used to living on a cash basis. If you really intend to file bk, stop paying debts you wish to discharge and use the money for everyday living expenses and legal/filing fees.

sorry to threadjack but say you do as mentioned which is what i plan to do stop paying CC's and live off cash. then you build hefty penalties and late charges on the CC's and you can not file chp 7 and can maybe only file chp13 then do you have a lot more money top pay back. what if you can not file at all? I am in teh process of talking to a lawyer and getting teh books just curious since it has been bugging me for a week now.
ThanksChp 7 Filled 2-21-08

You can easily figure out in advance if you will qualify for a 7 or not, it's really not that hard.Originally posted by monkatom View Postsorry to threadjack but say you do as mentioned which is what i plan to do stop paying CC's and live off cash. then you build hefty penalties and late charges on the CC's and you can not file chp 7 and can maybe only file chp13 then do you have a lot more money top pay back. what if you can not file at all? As for the payback amount in a chapter 13...how much you pay back has nothing to do with how much you owe.
