Trading cars RIGHT before filing

We should be filing next week (maybe the week after, depends on how fast the attorney is). My car is a cross-over, with bad gas mileage.

Can I trade it in for a hybrid - keeping the payment the same or less? Right before filing? Is this a no no?

THe insurance would be a little cheaper, but saving LOTS on gas each month.

Bad idea?

I think it would be a great idea since you'll be able to get a much better interest rate before filing. From what I've heard on this forum and from my attorney it shouldn't be a problem.

Im doing the same thing, as long as you can show you have done it to improve your situation im sure you will be ok
