Childs education on means test please help

Lawyer put in $275 for our 2 kids for educational expense, my kids go to public school, for the life of me I do not think I can justify this money if the trustee asks. It costs us $75 a month for school lunches and my son has a $40 horn rental fee for band, are these OK.

Maybe the $275 is a state exemption you can take for 2 kids. And you are entitled to that amount even though your actual expenses are less.

The means test states You must provide your case trustee with documentation demonstrating that the amount claimed is reasonable and necessary and not already accounted for in the IRS Standards.

Different Courts allow different things, but,...........

I thought, technically, that space on the Means Test was for special needs. Like your public schools can't offer classes for your child due to learning disabilities or some sort of physical handicap.

Some people have posted here, tho, that they were allowed to list their private school tuition and fees.

Your attny knows what will and won't fly in your Court. Could be, school lunches, instrument rentals, supplies, books fees, etc are allowed where you live.
