I lived in Arizona for about 6 years and moved back to CA about 6 months ago to go back to school and live with my parents. Well the school thing didn't pan out, and I have been out of job...but actively looking. I am now moving back to Arizona in a week to live with my boyfriend. I have 20k in credit card debt, and owe $30k on my car, that is really only worth $17k. I have no income at all. My parents have been helping me pay my bills, but they cannot do it anymore. I need a fresh start. Would I qualify for Chapter 7? Also, I am going to need a car...would I be able to buy a $12k car used before I file bk, and keep that after the bk?
Any help would be greatly appreciated, as I never thought I would be doing this. But my credit keeps getting worse, due to debt to income ratio, and the credit card companys keeping raising my interest rates.
