    Questions: LEGAL FEES

    Kentucky

Question: I filed Chapter 7, but have been advised to change to Chapter 13 to maintain possession of my home (have already had meeting with creditors). Lawyer has been paid once for Chapter 7 (his fee + filing fee). Now he says he needs $1500.00 more to file a Chapter 13, since he is consulting another lawyer about my case. Why is it costing me another $1500.00 in legal fees to my lawyer to change to Chapter 13???

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

This is typcial, an entirely new petition is going to have to be filed. Sometimes, and attorney will only charge half-price for this service.

    Good Luck!
