No insurance. Need to see dentist/doctor. Plan on filing. Please help!

    Hi (again!)
I have no health or dental insurance. I had 3 surgeries this year and am still having alot of pain. My surgeon will not write me anymore pain medication as I have been on it for almost 8 months straight. He said I have to see a pain specialist in order to get something stronger. The pain is really really bad and it is unmanagable without meds. If I know I cannot pay the medical bill since I will be seeing a doctor with no insurance, can I just ask them to bill me and hope that they let me pay 5.00 a month until its paid off or if I file? I don't want to scam anyone, but this is pain management and I am really unable to function without it. I also have a tooth infection that is getting worse by the day and haven't done anything about it for almost 2 months because I dont have the money. Am I able to go to the dentist to get this treated and just eventually add it to my bk for whatever balance is remaning at that point? Thanks soooo much for your help I am so glad I found this site!

Medical debts are unseured and can be discharged in bk.

No, I haven't seen anyone because I haven't had any money. Is it a good idea to go through Shands? I live 2 minutes away from UF. Thank you so much!

Many years ago I worked for Shands ;) and went to UF.

The dental clinic is really good, too!

To what extent is the treatment that they offer. Because of my surgery, I have some bone loss in one of my upper teeth and because of it I now have a 10mm pocket. It continually gets infected and there is a 99.9% chance I will need an implant. I have had to have antibiotics placed about 6 months ago but they said they might need to cut away at the gum and scrape out nasty dead tissue etc. Is their care that they offer this detailed or is it basic proactive care (cleaning, xrays etc). Thank you so much!
