finally met with an attorney that I liked today. After dragging this out and playing the waiting game for 6 months I feel I can finally see the light. Will be able to file a chapter 7 without an issue per attorney due to time frames and income which is a tremendous relief. He will fill out all the forms with me in person, which he said would prolly take 2 weeks if by myself and him just typing them up. He seemed really on the ball and more about taking care of people.
Now to just file the 07 taxes and pay the attorney to get the ball rolling next month. Just want to thank everyone on this board the information and support have been incredible very happy I found this site. Its really helped me emotionally.
Out of 108k in unsecured ( alot more than I thought it was until I added it all up last night ) Since others have asked for this type of info here is my expieriences so far.
Wamu 9.6k sent to collections 3 months after last payment
BoA 52k Just threatened arbitration on the voice mail, after 5 months of no payment. But havent recieved anything other than the verbal threat of it.
the rest just leave messages I havent spoken to a single creditor which I dont think I could of handled.
other debt inculded Discover 12k, citi 9k chase 13k have sent me settlement letters but other than phone calls its all Ive gotten from them.
Disc and Wamu I havent used since sept the others havent been used since March April of last year and stopped making all payments in July August. with exception of discover Wamu which I stopped paying in Sept.
Now just keep my fingers crossed that there will be no objections and this will be behind me in May.
