Hello from Ohio...We filed a chapter 7, with asset, on 3-26-07. Discharged 7-27-07. Date of last filing 1-11-08.
We are getting a large tax refund, and I didnt know if the court would take it or not, so I called my very incompetent lawyer (he steered us wrong several times during the whole BK thing.) He told me to file my taxes, and bring it into his office and he will process it and see if the court wants our refund. I have not received a letter from the trustee stating so. I was wondering if I wait until our status is closed, and then file. Can the court still take the refund after it is closed? Also, any idea on when it might close? Thanks for any info. My hubby is not working, and we need every penny we can get.
