Which laws will apply to me?

I've been living in Charlotte over a year. I read in this bankruptcy manual I got at the credit counseling place, that if I've lived in a state less than 2 years I will go under the laws of the previous state I lived in. In my case, that's Florida.

Can I still get an attorney in NC, or do I have to get one in FL?
That will be horrible if I have to get one in FL, that cost tons of money in flights.

You can get a lawyer where you live at.

It would be a great idea to put all your questions in one post.

You would hire a lawyer in NC and file in NC.

What the 2 year law affects is which states exemptions you use. Sadly FL exemptions are much more stingy than NC . However based on what you have said, you'd have to use FL exemptions.
