Get to file earlier than thought

This really isn't a question, just wanting to tell my story and get this started. Here goes. Hubby and I had to file Chp 7 in 2000. My father helped me buy my first home, a run down piece of crap, mind you only paid 12,000 for it, if that tells you anything. Told me he would help fix it up and make it nice, well never happened.

In the beginning of 2000, hubbys company decided to move and said that if he wanted to they would transfer him with the company. Well found out our home had termites and high lead that caused me to live with my mom for 6 months, so when it was time to get rid of the house, owed 18,000 on it and couldn't sell it because of termite damage and the high lead problem, so ended up pleading bankruptcy so that we could move.

Fast forward to today. Last year hubby was working lots of overtime, bringing home 1000 a week, they transfered him to another plant in Oct which was another 30 miles from our home, which he now drives 110 a day for work. They cut his hours back to 40 so basically cut his income in half. I get disability and get money for our 4 kids. Well in Jan. when oldest turned 18 lost his check and because he got SSI on both parents, his dad was disabled, we got extra income for the kids. When they took his income they also cut the other 3 income by 200 each. So now we dont even
have enough money to pay anything.

Our Mortgages are 148,000 (1400 monthly) unsecured debt is 30,000 and living expenses come out to be about 2000 a month. Well income is only 3200after taxes.

So we are in trouble. Decided only option was chp 7, but knew that the 8 yrs was due sometime this year so knew we had to wait until then, talked to a lawyer and he said that we filed on May 22, 2000. So said we could file May 23. Well paid the fee and got paperwork to fill out and when we did he said that the last filing date was May 12. So I was confused, so since I learned about Pacer on here, got myself an account and looked up our old bankruptcy and it says May 12.

So we get to File next week, I am so happy to get this going earlier than expected, tired of creditor calls, that I dont answer, but keep calling. Haven't pd any bills since February since that is when my income completely changed. Plus got a letter from 2nd mortgage company saying that if I dont pay past due amount (313.00) they were going to start pre-forclosure process.

Sorry this is so long, guess I will go for now.

sillyme - absolutely no shame filing twice. My parents had to and like your story my father and sister are on Social Security Disability. Times today are soooo much more challenging then before. I know. About 1yr ago I was running a 700+ credit score and as you see via my signature I just went through the process.

It's unfortunate that your husbands company is cutting hours - but they are all over. My wife's brother is cut from 40 to 32.

Keep the head up and get rid of that elephant off your back!
      Good luck!
