i opened up two credit card accounts while unemployed..

    ...as a way to survive.

im wondering if the debts on those two cards would be discharged in a chapter 7?

Just depends on if the creditor objects. Was the application truthful?
Did you make any payments? How much is on the cards?

Well if the OP was unemployed the application couldn't have been truthful.

When did you open these accounts?

When are you wanting to file?

        I beg to differ!

The last account I opened for employer I put 'none'. For income I put 'zero'. I got the card anyway! $20,000 limit by the way- just proves they don't read those applications, they only read your credit score.

Sounds like the time I accidently put $650,000 on an cc app. Typed a liitle too fast and added an extra 0 in. Got $300 limit. Wouldn't have complained if they added and extra 0 or two.

Well,I doubt you'll have any issues. Many have depended on cc's to pay bills while unemployed.

Its rare for a creditor to file an objection based in false application (very risky for them given how much information they have, or can get about you). However, how much money are we talking about?

But, the possibility of an objection exists.
