    Ford Reaffirmation

I have question about reaffirming a truck with ford....our case was discharged on 7/1 and closed on 7/8 (yeah!!!). During this process, we signed papers & returned to Ford the paperwork they required but nothing was filed with the bankruptcy court and we don't even know if it was approved. Shouldn't something have gone through the court to make it official? We haven't heard anything from them.

I didn't want to reaffirm so I'm hoping someone on their end dropped the ball.

It certainly LOOKS like they dropped the ball. Lets hope it stays dropped and has rolled way out of sight by now.

Congratulations on the Discharge AND Closing. YEA!!!

Ms. IMG: You are out of bk now. I would not reaffirm as they won't take the truck as they want the money. Keep paying and you are in the clear. When you reaffirm, they gotcha!

If they have filed reaffirmation, wherever their county is, look at Public Records. They will have to record this item. 'Hub
If I knew it all, would I be here?? Hang in there = Retained attorney 8-06, Filed 12-28-07, Discharge 8-13-08, Finally CLOSED 11-3-09, 3-31-10 AP Dismissed, Informed by incompetent lawyer of CLOSED status, October 14, 2010.

The papers were signed during the bankruptcy, I'm just trying to figure out if it's normal not to hear if it was approved or that nothing was officially filed with the bankruptcy court.

Did you have a lawyer? If you filed on your own, the lawyers Ford chose to create the reaff. agreement would have told you if you don't have a lawyer, they enter the agreement into court and you have to go to court to have it approved. if you didnt and you filed yourself, the agreeement is not official. Contact ford credit and ask to have the lawyer's #

I did have a lawyer and nothing was filed with the court, just think it's weird not to have that happen or hear anything about it at all
