    Comment on Pacer ??

On Pacer today, there was a "request for service of notice" in regards to my husband's student loan. What does this mean? I also have student loans, but there wasn't a request for mine.

Another question I had, at our 341 meeting our "stand in" lawyer said that they are going to try to slide our student loans in there to be discharged... has this ever happened for anyone?

Request for service of notice was likely filed by your lender to keep your student loan lender aware of your bankruptcy and so they receive copies of all paperwork. It is not uncommon for a lender to request this. I have heard of people discharging student loans but it is definitely not the norm. We were not able to discharge ours. Best Wishes!!

I've read about a few posters that had there student loan dismissed, so Good Luck!!

P.S. Our lawyer told us that we would not be able to dismiss ours I think it depends on how aggressive your lawyer is and what your trustee is like...so Good Luck!!!

I think the only way student loans would be dismissed is through extreme hardship. And you will have to jump through many loops to prove that.
