The worst that can happen is the trustee will want the $700 that was in your bank account the day you filed. Not that big of a deal......

Did most of you that have been through a 341 get asked how much was in your account the day you filed?

Not that it matters anymore because you already figured it out but we were not asked nor did we even have to provide the bank statement that we brought! Others before us had to give theirs though so I guess its just one of those 'maybe' kind of Trustee questions.

Anyways...glad you found it exempt! Now go get a good nights sleep and good luck tomorrow! let us know how it went.

I feel like a real moron...I figured hiring the attny and paying what we paid, that HE would be the one worrying about all of this. I do not know if he used the wildcard or not to be honest....

Yeah, I interviewed three other attorneys and the person we went with seemed to "know the most" I guess you could say because with our sticky situation of moving around for the job I was laid off from, it was a difficult filing. However, he assured us that there was absolutely nothing to worry about that all was fine and that we could just file and do the meeting....I've been on here tonight reading some of your stories and information and wish I would have found you guys a month ago! I do feel alot better though that it was under the exempt, just a little embarrased that I didn't know that before! Goes to show you how much trust I put into my attorney and didn't pay more attention. Thanks again and I'll definitely post tomorrow! I hope it's short and sweet!

I just found this forum...our 341 is tomorrow and never in the past did our attorney say what amount we had to have in our bank account the day we filed - this never came up and I didn't know there had to be a specific amount. We are filing Federal Exempt in Nevada.

Now, today the lawyer's assistant left a message for me saying that our bank statement needed to show how much was in there the day we filed. I've been researching this because it took us a little by surprise that she said this. No call back from them thus far...

So, I was paid on the 20th of June, a Friday, my first pay check with my new job. We paid a deposit on a rental and groceries, ect and on the 23rd, a Monday, the day we filed, there was still about $730.00 in our account. However, by the 25th, there was only about $110.00 in the account. Is the Trustee going to go through this with a fine tooth comb? What is the WORST that can happen with this situation? We are very under the median income if that matters. Thanks.

How much did you say you had on the schedule when it asked about assets? If it pretty much matches and all the money was exempted then I dont see that there is anything to worry about. DOllars to donuts says no body even raises an eyebrow, and even if they do just be honest, let them use a fine tooth comb if they wish, and most importantly get some sleep tonight.
