    Debt sold not included in BK

    I have begun to clean up my credit reports since being discharged and I noticed on the Transunion report my Sears debt says Charged off to bad debt 4/08. We filed BK 4/23/08 and included Sears in our matrix. We are an asset case and they have not, nor has any other collector filed on that debt.

    My question...if the debt was sold and I did not receive notice am I still liable for that debt? What if it was sold a week before we filed?

    No you are not liable as long as you include the *original* creditor on your Matrix. Be careful because the *new* creditor will still try to collect, but inform them that you have your discharge papers!

    May 21, 2009 Retained 2nd Attorney
    May 28th - Filed for Ch 7 (FINALLY!)
    9/11/09 - DISCHARGED!!!!

        I have had 3 CCs sell my account since I file and charge them off. I wonder if this is a new game they are playing.
        I also got a letter from Kay jewelries wanting to repo a watch I returned 6 months ago.
