    Reaffirmtion Hearing??

My bankruptcy just discharged two weeks ago Whoohoo! But we just got some mail saying "Notice of reaffirmation hearing" we got the reaffirmation for our house and our car from the creditors.

Is this anything to worry about? Or is it just something to show up to?

Thanks for any help. I thought I was done with this thing after the discharge.....

I thought reaffirmation agreements HAD to be signed before discharge, if they were going to be signed at all, but I am not a lawyer and really don't know.

Maybe someone with more experience can jump in here and give you a better answer, hopefully...

These were signed and submitted about two weeks before our 60 days was up.

They overlaped and if you wished to do this, then call the company or your Clerk in your bk court to find out what to do. I really don't think you have a problem other than not knowing you don't have a problem. Now we had one attempt to "sneak under the wire" as American General sent our papers to our Trustee not to us, and if """We were going to do this"""". 'Hub

Ok so I don't have a problem. I just have to show up and the Judge is just going to make sure that I understand what the re-affirmation is. Right?

Thank you very much. I feel great now. Yippee!

Did you file pro se? I think I remember reading that when you file pro se and you wish to reaffirm, you have to go before the judge and get his/her approval for the reaffirmation. I believe they could disallow the reaffirm if they believe it poses an undo hardship on the debtor (i.e. you are negative on your schedules)
