Hey folks I been lurking for the past month or so mainly because of reading a post from someone saying that USTs sometimes visit these forums and find out some goodies on filers! I certainly did not want to make my case any more complicated or visible. As some may know, I filed C7 back in June. I have a paid off vehicle worth maybe about $12K ($3700 exemption in AK), being in Alaska we just received a record $3,200 dividend from the state from oil revenues, and I have a $5,600 IRS refund coming to me in about a week. I didn't hide anything from the UST. All of this info was disclosed in my case, but for whatever reason the UST didn't seem to ask about redeeming my car and I went under the "don't ask, don't tell" policy and just waited for them to ask me to redeem or give it up. Never happened! The dividend and "possible" refund were also brought up during the 341 and mentioned in my financials. The UST Assistant said are you expecting a refund? I said maybe. And that was it!! Again, don't ask don't tell.
I have been quietly lurking the BKForums, checking Pacer daily, and crossing my fingers and praying that: 1) I don't have to redeem my car, 2) I don't have to give up the extra $$ coming my way, and 3) that my case gets discharged and closed without any major flags. Yesterday, I almost fell out of my chair when I seen "case closed" on Pacer!!!! Yahooo!!!!
Is it really over?? I am really enjoying not using credit cards and not owing money at the end of the week. It is adjustment but a good one!
