    Want to cancel chapter 7 bankrupcy filing

    Can anyone tell me if I can cancel a chapter 7 bankrupcy filing after being discharged.I will now owe more money thanks to the trustee filing a adversary proceeding than I WOULD if I just worked with my creditors.I need to do this soon if I can.Help.....

    There is no voluntary withdrawal from Chapter 7. You might could request a conversion to Chapter 13 if you need to. I'm not sure how that would work.

    Why do you think you'd owe more money with an AP than you are clearing in bk?
    May 31st, 2007: Petition Filed by my lawyer
    July 2nd, 2007: 341 Meeting Held
    September 4th, 2007: Discharged and Closed.

      Sorry to say, the answer is no. If your case has progressed to discharge, there is no way to unring this bell.

      Did you file with an attorney or pro see (i.e. without an attorney).

        Just curious, but WHY would you want to cancel a bankruptcy? You've already been discharged, you're done.

        It's already on your credit report, your creditors have already marked your accounts as "in bankruptcy".....why would you want to "cancel it"?

        Why would you owe any money at all? When you're discharged, you don't owe anything to anyone.

        I'm confused....(that doesn't take much..LOL)

        Discharged and Closed: 7-21-08

          I think this debtor has/had non-exempt assets and he is being forced to pay the trustee.
