Just got my rough draft in the mail

Hi all, just got my petition in the mail to check over and make corrections. Legal helpers says they need a CMA for my property. When I spoke to my attorney she told me that my county tax assessor property value will suffice. I obviously don't have the money to get an appraisal done. Is this a necessity or just a legal helpers thing?

    filed ch7 - Nov 24 - 08
    341 Meeting - Dec 30 - 08
    Discharged March 04-09
    Case Closed March 09-09

You might could get a real estate agent to give you an appraisal, not sure how much it would cost though.

Most real estate agents will do a CMA for free, because they are hoping you list the property with them to sell. The problem with this, is that they inflate the value, to try to convince you to list the property with them. Most if not all districts allow the county tax appraisal value as the home value, just do a search for (your county) appraisal district online and you should find the website for it.

        Good Luck

I filed no asset and have a mobile home on 1/4 acre, the county assesed its value at 21,000 I would have figured at least 40,000. the trustee acepted the county,s estimate and never questioned it. How ever I realize diffrent courts dont look at these issues the same, my bankruptcy was in N Georgia.
