Bankruptcy Case closed but not discharged

Hi there all - My Bankruptcy 7 case was discharged 3 months ago but not closed yet. The trustee needs to finalize some paperwork so thats the hold up. My father is 89 years old and extremely ill right now, and if he died, I would get some cash and property. At what point does it become not part of the Bankruptcy estate if he should die? Does it go by the discharge date or the closing date? Thank you.

Is the trustee still requesting documentation from you or are you just waiting for them to do their final report? If they are done with you and just need to complete their final report on their end, I wouldn't worry about it.

Thank you for yout answer. It is my understanding that if you receive an inheritance it is based upon 180 days AFTER the FILING date? My filing date was over 1 year ago and my discharge date was about 3 months ago but my case is not closed. I am concerned with that if I receive an inheritance or my father puts property in my name, do I need to report this to the BK trustee? I want to report what needs to be reported, but at the same time, I don't want to report something that I don't have to. Can someone please give me clarification? Thank you so much.
