    Follow up inheritance question

Re-cap: My father-in-law died suddenly 2 weeks ago with no will. We are 135 days past filing. When my husband and his sister went to the court house to set up the estate, the court person told them that they are free to name just his sister in the estate if they want.

I wonder if this is true? If it's just her name and social security number on the estate accounts then there's no way to trace anything back to my husband, right?

If this is an attempt to hide an inheirtance........ GOOD LUCK.....
All possible inheirtances are supposed to be reported to the Trustee at the 341 meeting.....

    Is your case discharged? closed?

If not, the Trustee will find out about it I'm sure.....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

At the 341 meeting in July, when we were asked if we were due any inheritance, we told the trustee that we imagined we were on our parents' wills but that our 4 parents were all alive and well. That was the honest truth.

We had no way of knowing that my husband's dad would suffer a massive stroke.

Yes, we are discharged and we were only 45 days away from the 180 day mark.
