1400 which included filing fees in Northern Lower Mich. There were 3 pro se at our 341 and they had to come back, the trustee was very understanding to them, but in my opinion I would scrape together money somehow, and our case was easy.
      Good luck

                      cost

I'm filing chapter 7 this week as well and was told the cost will be 1200 with court costs included. My question to anyone is, does this have to be paid all at once or will attorneys accept a payment plan?

I believe it depends on the lawyer, you will have to speak to them about this. Mine let me pay over time, but wouldn't file my case until he was paid in full

                            $1700 for the attorney
                            $299 filing fee
                            $50 Pre BK session online
                            $20 credit counseling session online

The only thing worth paying was the filing fee!
The attorney and 'credit counseling' were worthless.

If you can, do it pro se. Knowing what I know (thanks to this forum), had I found it earlier, there would have been no chance in hell I would have used an attorney. Couldn't get my q's answered through my attorney (whom I paid), but got them all covered here.
