Still have decent credit only late on my cc's 90 days or so. In order not to use any exemptions for my car, is it possible to get some sort of lien put on it? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

That would sound like a good idea to me! Can a friend put a lien on your car without you getting into trouble? Anyone?

Yes, if you borrow money from a friend or anyone then fill out a promissory note detailing how the loan is to be paid back, and then that person( the creditor) has to file a lien within 30 days (some states it is 20 days) after the note has been signed. This is a very common thing, good attorneys do to protect non-exempt assets.

Yes...!!! If my car is worth approx. 9k and I dont want to borrow

that much money. Maybe 4Kor 5k...can I still have a lien on it and pay back a small mthly amount? Can I go thru a credit union or bank, since I dont want to involve my family? I just realized Im only 60 days late on a few cc's.
Dollar Bill gave me this idea but I wanted other opinions also...
