So I shopped - what happens???

Ok - so I checked back statements on all my credit cards and a few have charges that are not 90-days old. I was current and making payments on everything up until 9/25/08. We filed on 10/16/08 when I realized that I can't keep up anymore. What can happen? Will they object and I can pay those charges back???

Took 115 days after 341 - But Finally DISCHARGED 3/25/09

      1) approx. $300 - groceries and gas
      2) $250 @ Bed Bath & Beyond - bought towels and sheets
      3) In August on American Express bought a $912 laptop @ Circuit City, but in Sept. I made a $500 payment to American Express

If I have to pay those 3 amounts I will be OK.

worst You may end up paying for the laptop but most likely not see if they object.
you made an effort to pay.
the other stuff is less then 600 so stop worrying about it.
and stop paying it or send it to me
now cut those CC's up dw and i had a CC burning party invited friends of and all.

My last payments were made in Sept. Only paying mortgage and 2 car loans now. The CC's are definately cut up!!! This is just such an overwhelming experience for us. We have always paid our bills, we've always had great credit scores. It's so nice to have this forum to share experiences.

the worst that can happen is they may want to settle for it.

say you spent 1000 and cant pay and they dispute then work out a agreement to pay them 1/2. that way you still get a good deal?

Will I know before or after the 341 if a creditor objects?
If this happens, how does the "work out an agreement" process work. do I call them?

The more knowledge I have, the better prepared I will be.

You will not necessarily know even at the 341. They can file their objections afterwards. It is possible AMEX will object to the laptop, if so you'd still have to pay for it (also make sure you exempted the laptop in case they don't object). As for food, gas, and towels I doubt they object to that.

Credit cards were recently defined in a national article as being a "snake in your pocket." They are not cash; they are addictive. Others get rich off of your debt. If you can't afford to pay cash for it, you can't afford it. Hopefully you will learn that and also if you do not need it you don't have to buy it. Credit cards are why the majority of the folks are on this forum. Try to keep that in mind after all this is over.
