    Special Finance Manager

DW and I should be discharged on 12/06/2008. It is now our intention to give her car back after the discharge. There are several questions that I think many of you here miht be familiar with.

Her payments are due on the 28th of the month. I have not mailed the payment for this month yet, I can pay it at a Capital One location here. If I do not pay next month, 11/28, and we are discharged on 12/05, how long do you think it would take for them to call us about getting their car? We have not reaffirmed the car. I would rather just use the payment for this car as a down payment on the new car.

My original question going into this thread was about special finance managers at most of the large dealerships. Does anyone know if these people are better suited to getting us approved immediately after BK? I know that these are tough times for lenders and I don't know how difficult it will be to get the financing we would need. Not to mention, I hate shopping for cars.

Car dealers will have access to the most options for you. But as was pointed out, none of the deals are great, but at the same time, beggars cannot be choosers.

The only catch with the Finance Managers is, despite having the most options available, you cannot be certain you are getting the best loan possible or the one that pays the Finance Manager the highest commission.

Yeah, I think our best bet is to make sure our credit reports are clean, have a little to put down, and hit up the large dealerships that have multiple lots. Time to start cleaning those reports.
