    1. He responds we've never been asked to provide anything but ss/drivers liscence.

I am so confused and nervous. Also for expenses I had what I thought were valid expenses that put me over the edge and he told me 75 for cable/90 for ent/club membership was to high. Then he puts me at 550 dollars for food for a single person.

Well What is the worst case scenario Its dismissed and I have to pay still or switch to Chapter 13. The lawyer seems so non concerned like they're could be nothing wrong. I make 54k and seperated with 40k in un secured debt. School loans of 87k and the future look bleak

Calm down, you hired lawyer to "worry" for you.
Should there be an issue - he will call ya.....
If he's not concerned - don't be too worried about it.....
Believe me when I say - Most lawyers act this way.....it's not their BK its yours....

So be patient, wait till a problem arises and let him handle it, just keep your eyes, ears open to what he is doing.....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

I agree. That's what they get paid the big bucks for. I would have my ducks in a row. It will keep you busy getting all the information together and then ifyou need it, you will have it.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....

Do we have the same lawyer??? If he's making you feel weird about things, get out! My lawyer did that and I wish I had switched, all the same responses you have. It's nice to put it off on someone else, but now he's totally messing with my bankruptcy.

Here's my situation. I had my initial consultation in July, paperwork one week later (8/5) was told the petition would be ready with in the next week and we would file. In reality, he didn't even do the paperwork until 8/15, told me he was filing on th 16th (it needed to be filed before the 15th according to our original conversation). I called yesterday was told it was filed on the 17th but they didn't have a case number, checked pacer and no info. I called back and was told, Oh - you do have a case number, it's blah blah. Checked Pacer, and it was filed 15 minutes after I called and posted two hours after the call. Checked Pacer again last night to see when my 341 was and turns out my trustee is a partner at my ex's law firm (part of my bankruptcy). I called to tell him and no return call yet!

Here's the deal - I paid in full up front hoping that he would not blow me off, to me it seems like since he's paid, he doesn't really care.

If you haven't paid, or if you feel uneasy - try to switch lawyers before it's too late.

I paid in full and he will file this week. Im in cook county ,il. I am just worried as I think recent charges not an official divorce aren't they going to investigate and they don't care. Ive paid and it seem the secretary is doing all the work. Just a confusing time. Im gonna hope for the best

I don't think the lawyers worry like we do...hell...I stopped paying on my credit cards back in 2001 and just this past six months started getting the calls from them...I decided not to worry myself & basically knew it was just a matter of "when" I would have to own up to my stupidity with filing bankruptcy...Five years ago with $200K in the bank...who knew?
Filed Oct 2005discharged February 2007,Shapeless in the fire's glow, tell me if you think you know,
