Student Loan discharged? but been paying!!

I had a student loan with "Student Loan Corporation" through Citi Bank. I received my discharge on 8/30/05. In my bk petition my lawyer listed every loan I had. According to my credit report, the school loan shows discharged with a balance of $0. I was under the impression that school loans would not be discharged and have been paying them since I filed in May. Am I entitled to get this money back? How can I be sure if this loan is really discharged.

Also, I reaffirmed my furniture and they have yet to contact me but according to my credit report...it says this was included in bankruptcy and a $0 balance. Is this too good to be true? Or will they still contact me?

Regarding the furniture, they may have updated the account info to say IIB before the reaffirmation agreement.

I don't know about the student loan, regarding discharge. You're not likely to get a refund though.

Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

Depends on what kind of student loan you have???

If it is just a signature loan thru a bank and not thru Federal or State funds - it is discharged as a regular loan.......

If you plan on keeping furniture, keep paying on it if you want..... They may call and ask you to sign a reaffirm agreement, may not.....

Personally, I would not pay another dime on the furniture...Chances of them asking you to surrender are slim (it's used furniture, yardsale stuff, now)........ Especially since it says included in bk....

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
