Creditor and discharge questions

I tried to connect electric at my new rental today, and the electric company told me that I cannot transfer service because my old account is in bankruptcy.

I didnt include any of my utilities in my bk. Does this mean that my balance (which is a few hundred) will be discharged even though it wasnt listed in my matrix? How the heck did they find out about my bk?!

Also I owe at&t (cell phone) a few hundred, my contract ended and I cancelled service, and went with Sprint. Can I send at&t a copy of my bk notice and that will be discharged?

Actually I put it into my roommates name instead, because they did in fact want a $300 deposit

Ok so how will at&t wireless find out? Should I mail/fax them a notice? They too were not included in my matrix.

you can call and give them your case number. that is as of the date of filing if you have a phone bill since that datre you owe that same with the others
