I am signing my papers today....

I am meeting with my attorney today to sign my bankruptcy petition.

I feel as though I can vomit at any second. Is this anxiety normal? I am married, filing separate. Our assets/equity are right around the exemption limit. However, the attorney seems to think I will be okay.

I have around $50K unsecured CC debt and am worried about certain banks contesting the discharge, like Home Depot where we bought kitchen cabinets ($1400.00) and Gordons Jewelers for our wedding rings. ($700.00). I've heard rumblings that most companies are just kind of "letting" the most recent filed cases go through since it's so close the law change. Has anyone else heard this?

Thanks for your advice in advance.

    This is normal

My lawyer had me fill out the paperwork and tried to push me into a 13 after I had originally asked for a 7. After having to answer all of his questions, explain why I have to go bankrupt (a few years with a drug called cocaine)and I went home, thought about how I would make an extra $190 a month payment just to keep a car that needs a big repair...well I went home and promptly threw up. A few times.

I haven't filed yet but will next month before the law changes and now I'm stressed because I have to get rid of my SUV and get into something else real quick!

    You're not alone.

The day I signed the papers, I felt so sick! My hand was shaking as I penned my name to each form. I kept asking myself: "O my God!What am I doing!" Even though my attorney was terrific, ( couldn't have asked for better), I don't think she understood.

Hang in there. Things do get better. You will get through this.

          SICK!!! THROW-UP!!!!!
          Why that's NATURAL.........................lol
We have all been there, done that............nerve wrecking isn't it ?? Signing your name and wondering "what will happen"?????

Calm down, cool off, be patient - it is really painless - you just don't know it yet.........IT WILL BE OKAY......YOU WILL SEE........

BEING OVER ANXIOUS is part of the bankruptcy process - the fear of the unknown and the court has you life in their hands......

You will survive, it will be over soon, and you can start a fresh life with a lot less stress and a chance to work towards a debt free future...............

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.

In the Army we had a guy we called the pump. When you would puke, he'd pump your arm, like a water pump--guess you had to be there. Hope the humor helps a little.

Nausea is a requirement. Read the fine print. Trust me it is there, it is very tiny. (next time you go to the attorney's office, I guarantee there is a trash can verrrry close to where you were sitting signing the documents)
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....
