    341 today.. good or not?

Well had my 341 this morning at 11:40, but dumb me dropped my social security card on the desk and forgot to take it. Had to go back at 2pm.

There were only 5 other people in the room, and all had lawyers I was the only prose, even went I went back everyone had a lawyer. I could tell he was a bit irritated when I didnt have my social security card.

Was asked if I understood what chapter 7 was, if it was actually my signature on the petition, about any lawsuits or if I owe or if anyone owes me money and I filled out the forms. that was it, gave me back all the paperwork I mailed him (car title, bank statements so forth..)

When I went back all he wanted to see was my social security card and said thanks..

    So does this sound good?

Yes, your okay................social security bit wasn't a good thing though...notice you had to GO BACK with it.......

If he didn't ask any more questions and gave all your paperwork back to you he was satisfied.

Now, calm down, relax, and wait out for the objections (if any) about 60-90 days...........

Sounds good! Hope there are no objections and you get discharged!

I hope my 341 meeting as as easy as yours. I am a nervous wreck.

I promise you will be fine. (if not sue, the line to wait isn't long now that I filed bankruptcy) Seriously, I saw several when I went to the 341 that filed pro se and they were not prepared at all, one had his case dismissed twice and trustee gave him a continuance and told him to get his act together. The other cases had been continued to this date and they went ok, although all of them had to submit additional paperwork by a deadline, 2 weeks I think. He was probably only aggravated because you forgot the card more than anything else. Good luck, check Pacer in a couple days and keep us posted.
I'll be watching, you may never know when or how, but I'll be there. I am there now....

Where on pacer does it show the updates?

He didnt tell us that all items were exempt and there wasnt nothing to distribute like a few of the other cases, but he did give me back my car title and only asked if I still owned it and if it was paid for.

Waiting for this and a divorce.. fun stuff

Been thru the divorce thing also (is that a prerequisite too?) Thank god I didn't do both at the same time, but then I giess I could file the bills from the insane asylum too. I normally looked at the status section and the history section on Pacer. Out trustee nor our lawyer mentioned anything at the 341 about how the case was looking. We were swore in as a group. When the individual cases were called up, he had our petition with several post it note flags, which I assume (you know what that means) were the questions he had for us. Asked us the "usual" questions about the petiton, asked for additional information about why my hysband worked in another state, some parttime income, he had a question on, how we spent our income tax refund, how we paid our bills,(my mother lives with us too.) Thank you and good luck.
The lawyer said goodl lucjk and you will have your discharge papers in the mail in a few months, if we had any questions give her a call.
I didn't see the trustee, "take" anything that evidently wasn't already expected, except some stock a woman had from where she used to work, it wan't included as any retirement type income, (she had retired from a bank, the stock was from working at another bank prior to retiring), But prior to that, he asked her and her attorney (that appeared to have grown freen ears or something, because he couldn't answer anything about the stocks, I am not sure he even was familiar with their petition, not even sure that he read it)several questions as to why it wasn't listed as any type of retirement benefit.
I also noticed that the trustee was offering helpful information to the attorney's and those filing pro se on changing some of the schedules around to help out the petitioner. Too bad Minnie didn't get him. Ours tried to make most of us less nervous and seemed to several of the "unprepared" attorneys and pro se filers job.
Good luck, post threads when you get anxious, and keep us posted.

Yeah, my Trustee just "smiled" and you could see "dollar signs" in his eyes when he asked for my house title...............SUCKS...

My lawyer suggested to get the bankruptcy over first. Going through the divorce now but its not final yet as theres a child involved. Its been moving slow, I started the divorce last year.

Thanks for the advice people. Now ill wait..

Today in pacer the trustee entered "Chapter 7 Trustee's Report of No Distribution"

So i assume he doesnt want any of our property at least.

Just wait it out now for 60 days or so and see if any creditors object (seldom do) and your good to go...........

                      Good luck,
