Hi everyone. My lawyer sent out papers in on Friday. By Tuesday, I got my 341 meeting date. It's October 25. I hope I can hold out that long without going crazy. This whole thing is so frightening. I don't know what to expect, what will happen. The more I try not to think about it, the more it haunts me. I just want it to be OVER with!

If you filed a no-asset Chp7 petition without any/many red flags your case should unfold smoothly..........and most likely uncontested. Your attorney would've made you aware of any potential red flags early on.

I'm speculating that your debt to income ratio was on point, since your attorney worked up a Chp7 petition.Originally posted by accentoneTodd, our lawyer is concerned about a high income, but says also that our expenses look "reasonable."The information provided is not, and should not be considered legal advice. We are "upside down," if that's what you mean. We make a lot. With three kids (two of them teenage boys), we also spend a lot. Still, our lawyer did say he would be surprised if there wasn't an objection. Said he would probably have to "hash" it out with a trustee. I guess that's what's making me uneasy right now.

accentone - try not to stress about it too much. Our attorney told us virtually the same thing - we have a high income too but we also have medical bills which drastically offset that money. Also, he said we would probably have a problem with one of our expenses - private school tuition for our youngest son. We did have the trustee object one day before our discharge but I am blessed to say our saga did have a happy ending; namely, we received our discharge last month. High income obviously does not necessarily mean Chapter 13. It will however, be up to your lawyer to defend your expenses. Be sure you can back them up with receipts, bank statements, etc. I think that was our saving grace. Good luck..let us know how it is going.

Accentone,
Just calm down, everything will be okay......
Yes, it is nerve wrecking, but really it is normally very painless and you will be amazed when its all over.....
If your lawyer doesn't seem too concerned, then you should be okay.....
Stay Cool

My suggestions are from "personal experience" and research only. Do not consider this as legal advice. Each bankruptcy case is different.
