here's a simplified timeline of my bk7:
12/22 filed ch7 with DH, pro-se
1/29 341 meeting
2/10 sent trustee copy of our 2008 taxes
2/13 trustee sends notice that $3k of our tax refund belongs to the estate
2/17 cashiers check for $3k sent to trustee
2/19 PACER shows update with "proof of claims notice" sent to creditors
there is now a 5/20/09 deadline for "proof of claims." i vaguely understand this to mean that if our creditors want a chunk of our $3k tax refund, they have to fill out the form that was sent to them by 5/20/09. is this correct?
what does this mean for our case and discharge/closing dates? will our case still be discharged at or around day 60? will closing be delayed until after the proof of claims deadline or is this entirely unrelated?
any information would be most helpful. we're feeling confident that we're in the home stretch now and so far, it's been flawless. no problems, no complaints (well, handing over $3k was a little painful but it's NOTHING compared to our $50k in debt!) and hopefully, no trouble from now till the end.
