Bounced Checks listed on Chapter 7?

My wife had a checking account that went bad about 3 years ago and she had 3 or 4 NSF checks that bounced. Can these be listed on a Chapter 7? I was wondering also wondering what discription you write for these(NSF CHECK?)....
Another question that comes to mind is how far back should I go. I had some credit cards that I let go back in my late teens that arn't on my credit report and I havn't heard from the companies in ages, but I figure why not list them. I don't have account numbers, but I've read that that is alright, as long as I have the address right. I was wondering about the amount though, I have no idea what I left the balance on these cards at, should I guesstimate as to what I think the balance is??? I figure it would probably be better to guess higher than lower as to the balance if I don't know it. Any thoughts on these things is much appreciated, you guys are awesome sources of information!

I'm not sure. You might want to check and see if there are warrants out for your wife's arrest though.

Regarding the old accounts-no harm in listing them. Estimating the balances should be fine. I listed an apartment complex that DH had a judgement from some time back. There has been no activity on it since the judgement was filed, and the entry is no longer showing on his credit but I know judgements can be renewed. Most likely his file is in some storage area collecting dust-but you can never be too careful!

Regarding the checks-do you know where they were written? You can list that company as a creditor. For description, I'd go with collection. More than likely, that is how the company the $$ is owed to treats it.

        no warrants

Fortunately she's got no warrants, the amounts were pretty small. Collections seems like a good description so I'll put that on the schedule F. Thanks for the help!

Are you sure that checks are looked at like an unsecured credit? I've always heard completely differently. I am sure the laws vary state to state but in Texas they don't play around and a hot check can land you in jail quick no matter what the amount is.

Filing BK wouldn't protect anyone from being charged with a crime, but the debt incurred as the result of a bad check is a separate matter.

Ducksinarow is correct! I heard this too. I knew an idiot in a former company I used to work for that was arrested at work for bouncing convenience checks all over town.

craigerzz, I wouldn't play around with this even if it was for small amounts.

From what I'm reading on here, I think it would be better to not list the checks? They are not on my wife's credit report and it was almost three years ago that this occurred.
