My hubby and I have already had our 341 and everything went great. We are surrendering our house (we got a notice yesterday that Horizon bank is wanting the automatic stay lifted). I got a phone call yesterday from an investor who wants to buy our house. He explained that he would negotiate an settlement with my first and second mortgage company and then we would proceed with an actual purchase agreement. Has anyone ever heard of this? He also explained that since we would be selling our house, a foreclosure would never occur and our credit would be much much better. Anyone....advice...experience?

Yep, that's what I did four years ago when I got divorced and lost my job in a matter of a month. I went about 8 months without making a house payment and managed to sell before foreclosure. I even ended up pocketing about a thousand bucks out of the deal.Originally posted by sobrokeMy hubby and I have already had our 341 and everything went great. However I wasn't going through a bankruptcy at the time, so I dunno if that will have an affect on your situation or not.

There are companies that check the public records to solicit customers for their services. I have no personal dealings, but would just caution to check them out fully. Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.
