    Good News! (Garnishment stopped finally)

They finally stopped garnishing DH's weekly part time check! (Garnishments started in Aug, and they'd taken out 3 times by the time we filed Sept. 12. As of last week, they were still taking $$ out and I've been trying to get someone to answer for it but I kept getting voicemail. The creditor/attorney that filed it had to release it, as payroll couldn't stop the garnishment otherwise.) I knew it would take time to stop, and we'd get back what they took out after filing, but I wanted to know the process had been started.

Anyhow, they added back what they owed him on today's check. The only thing that made it almost bearable-temporarily-was they were garnishing the part time job not the full time. The best part is-they refunded ALL they took out, even from before we filed. I think that is because the payroll sends the $$ to the creditor every 30-45 days, and at the time we filed they hadn't sent any yet.

Most of my information is from personal experience or HOURS and HOURS of online research. When you're searching online, keep in mind there is no guarantee that the info is completely up to date, and your situation is unique from anyone else's. Do your homework, and consult with an attorney so you can make an informed decision.

A little bit of "quick relief" feels fantastic, doesn't it......!!!

Take that quick relief and mutiply it x's 10 - and HELLO DISCHARGE...............

Really, when its over you still feel "sad" about having to do it, but the stress relief is tremendous.......
