Keeping any cash in the bank?

My ch.7 was filed last week and I think I had no more than $5.00 in my checking account with Bank of America. My cable just got turned off yesterday due to the bill not being paid. Since the only way I can probably get it back on is to pay online, would it be appropriate at this point to put the $210.00 in my checking to pay it online? It's two months overdue.

I don't think it would raise a flag as it's not a large amount of money. You did the basic thing right, $5.00 at filing, thats how it is done. i would get the cable back up and running.

I don't know if thats including reconnect fees and all but if it is straining you they always have the setup they don't tell you about, it is about 12.00 per month, utter basic though. I get Total Choice Plus from DirectTV which runs $56.00 per month and is more or less Basic.

Cable/Satellite is no longer considerd a luxury.

I'm with robivi here - according to my attorney, as long as the excess money was paid for bills - and you have proof (ie the transaction listing and/or reciept) it's no issue to the bankruptcy.

      Good luck!

We filed on Sept 29th with $24.00, in our checking, However the next day the 30th there was over a $1100 in the bank cause of hubby's paycheck, I COULD NOT prevent this, as he has direct deposit. I was freaking out and our lawyer said don't worry, it is for bills, and other expenses, and is accounted for.
        Hope this helps.

          Thank you!

I think our basic Directv is supposed to be like $49/month but we get a few extras plus the bill goes up when we order movies...Yeah, I think I'll head over to the bank & put some cash in. Plus jeesh, I'm probably getting charged a monthly fee anyhow just to keep it open...but the transactions are all for bills so that makes me feel good.
